Rural Community Grant Funding – Now Open
The Borough Council is inviting applications from local groups, volunteering projects and community organisations for funding support through the Rural England Prosperity Fund.
Grants of £1,000 to £5,000 are available, covering up to 80% of eligible costs for capital projects that benefit the wider rural community. Funding is provided by the Government’s Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and administered by the Borough Council.
The scheme is open now and closes at 11am on Monday 11th January 2026.All projects must be completed by 31 March 2026.
Eligible projects should improve community facilities, amenities or outdoor spaces through the purchase of long-lasting equipment (12 months+ lifespan) or small building improvements.
Examples include:
Catering equipment for village halls
Gardening equipment for community allotments
Tables, chairs and gazebos for community events
New permanent play equipment
Projectors and screens for community cinema
Improvements to community venues
