News from the Hall

September at the Hall started with a bang! The bar was absolutely packed and

buzzing with both local fans, as well as a large number of ‘visitors’ who sang and danced away the evening along to the music of the ever-popular band - DNA. £2.00 for guest admission or free if you have the annual club membership of only £12.50!

In case you did not notice them, we were honoured to host the International Pilgrims on one of their stops whilst making their annual pilgrimage to Walsingham. They numbered nearly 400 and were the perfect guests - a great compliment to us that they choose to stay with us on a regular basis.

The MacMillan Coffee Morning - or Afternoon in this case - was another great success. Such a fantastic cause, hopefully you were all able to drop in… And, talking about worthwhile causes, make a date in your diary for 12th October. The Parish Council is in the process of obtaining financial help to install a brand new - top of the range - play area. However, they are required to contribute a substantial sum of money to put towards the funding. Therefore, on Sunday, 12th October, there will be a large Fundraising Fete held in the hall and field. PLEASE support this; all monies raised are going towards brand new facilities for your village, particularly the children.  ANY donations of help before or on the day, or items to sell or use on the tombola stall will be hugely appreciated.

The Tennis Club had a very successful summer of team tennis and have planned a

variety of interesting challenges for Autumn. Junior Coaching has started again—contact Ashley - 07787121312 for information and to book a place.

Before telling you what’s coming up in October, Community Cars, based at the hall, is desperate for more drivers as demand goes up and driver numbers decrease. If you sign up, they would be grateful for ANY trips you can do - as many as you want or as few as you can - even one a year would be appreciated. You will be paid .45 per mile - from your house to destination and back home. It is in many ways a lifeline to those who do not have an alternative - please think about it.

Back to October - any help at all to help to do a major tidy up of the hall and its surroundings would be very, very much appreciated! Saturday, 4th October - starting at 10 am. Just time to have a rest before returning to the bar and joining the always popular Mick Fisher in the bar at 7 pm—tickets £7. As well as the usual activities booked for October, Creative Arts East is bringing Mindful Dance with The Vanhulle Dance Theatre to the hall. Laura and Oliver will run an uplifting dance workshop in a relaxed and supportive environment! This mindful dance session offers gentle, soothing exercises that encourage self-expression, creativity, and well-being. No experience needed - but do wear some comfortable clothes… 1pm on 15th October. The Bingo evening on 24th October will be just a little unusual - it’s Innuendo Bingo - adults only, please!

And finally, looking into the future - the hall is hosting an evening with well known

Medium, John Julian: 27th November at 7.30 pm. Tickets - £10 - via the bar.

Have a great October - back soon with November’s news …
