The first Craft/Tabletop Sale for the Douglas Cat Sanctuary was popular and very successful at the beginning of May. Unfortunately, Rowena Toledo was unable to appear on the 10th, however, at very short notice, the Events Committee were able to book Bondy, a versatile and extremely talented singer who not only sang covers, but a number of his own, occasionally poignant songs. Creative Arts East continued their run of Creative Scriptwriting sessions and will be back for another one on 20th June—1-3 pm.
Adam Tucker - definitely a name to remember - and one that will be up in lights very soon: he and his band played and sang great music and entertained about 160 people, most of whom danced until late in the evening. - not just those from Massingham, but from as far afield as KL and Dersingham!
May also saw the launch of the Historical Society’s Heritage Trail booklet. About 70 people attended, enjoying an informative evening and a barbeque supper- particularly welcome on a surprisingly chilly evening.
There are three auctions in June - 8th, 22nd and 29th. Keep 28th June free for The V8 Rockets - tickets £8.00 and a BBQ available. With all the usual Hall events, a very busy June ahead.
As a taster, coming up in July; a Quiz Evening with a free Curry, £10 a head, the School Fayre, the annual Stacey Brown Memorial Football Day, a Mick Fisher evening and The Village Hall’s AGM, so keep an eye out for more info.
Rumble in the Jumble has now morphed into a Summer Celebration—look out for more information on this event … CAN YOU HELP? We are hoping to provide more entertainment and fun for families in the form of outside activities e.g. giant versions of Snakes and Ladders, Jenga, etc. Any donations welcomed. Finally the following was received after the company booked the hall for the first, but not the last, time. “Thanks so much for the hire of Great Massingham Village Hall. It was the perfect setting for our Hog Roast, games and team building night. Debbie was a fantastic host and even kindly let us stay later than we had booked. We are already planning our next event!! Thanks from The Norfolk Agents”
