VILLAGE FUND INTIATIVE - Chance to apply for 25/26

Following the success of the first two years of the Massingham Village Fund Initiative we are now inviting groups or organisations to apply to be beneficiaries for the year
2025 – 26.
Any group or organisation applying will need to be a properly constituted organisation with their own separate bank account, be based in Great or Little Massingham and be for the exclusive benefit of the Massingham villages. Organisations must be non-political and not for profit. All applications must be received by 31st May 2025 and successful applicants will be advised no later than 14th June. The year will run from 1st June 2025 until 31st May 2026 inclusive.
This year we are continuing with the pot which will be used to help groups who feel they do not need year long funding but simply need a small one-off payment for an essential need. This Small Fund Pot, in essence, will be one of the beneficiaries. If successful we will continue this into future years. So if you are only looking for a small benefit to assist do not hesitate to email villagefund@thedabblingduck.co.uk. This is also the email address to send your applications to for consideration to be a year-long beneficiary.
Existing beneficiaries will need to re-apply for the forthcoming year. Applications sent to other email addresses will not be considered. Once you have submitted your email please telephone Robert to ensure it has arrived.
Up until the end of the last quarter the pub had raised an incredible £18,527.00. This was shared equally between the pub’s chosen charities: Retina UK, East Anglian Air
Ambulance and, currently, the Royal National Lifeboat Institution. This means that, to date, the VFI beneficiaries have received £9,263.50 between them. This is amazing given that the pub only adds £1.00 per bill, not per cover, whether there is only one person
eating or a party of 20-plus. In addition the Shop and Cartshed Tearoom also raised a total of £463.48 during the same period, all of which goes to the local village
beneficiaries; this is equally amazing given that this is from customers’ loose change only. There is still one quarter’s results to be announced for this current year.
Please continue to help support local organisations by using the participating businesses. Why not, also, come and support the Village Hall Quiz and, if you win, you can donate your winnings to this worthy cause.
Should anyone wish to discuss this further please do not hesitate to call the
VFI Co-ordinator, Robert Taylor, on 07908 244421.
