Great Massingham is a thriving community with a shop, post office, village pub & restaurant, a medical centre with its own dispensary, village school and pre-school playgroup, the village hall, bar, social club and an very active tennis and multi-sports club.
The Village Hall has fine facilities for indoor activities and is a centre for a wide range of entertainment, while a large playing field, bowling green, basketball court and tennis courts provide sporting facilities for the more active villagers and visitors – please see further information on the Village Hall page.
Even fishermen are catered for with a large well stocked village pond, once the fish pond for a nearby Augustinian Priory! Children and toddlers too have a well equipped play park equipped with a good range of playground rides and slides.
A daily bus service provides connections to nearby Kings Lynn and Fakenham but there is also a thriving community car service manned by volunteers, used for transport to hospital appointments for example or to anywhere where public transport might be a little difficult.
