The Village

Design Statement

 

The Design Statement defines the standards that residents expect of any development, large or small, affecting the fabric and environment of the village.

 

• It has been produced by residents of the village and developed through a process of public consultation via questionnaires, workshops and exhibitions.
• It has been adopted as Supplementary Planning Guidance to support the Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk’s Local Plan and is to be used in the assessment of planning applications.
• It will operate in the context of existing local planning policies and serve to protect the distinctive character of this village.

 

This Design Statement will be used by Great Massingham Parish Council in its consideration of local issues.

 

In addition it will provide guidance to statutory agencies, utility supply companies, developers, architects, local organisations, builders, householders, landowners and businesses.
